Part-Time Job CV example

What to include in a part-time job cv: relevant evidence, skills, sample achievement structures and template suggestions.

A useful starting point

One page, availability in the profile, and two proofs of reliability (shifts, till, caring). Skip a corporate two-pager. Skip this example if you are applying for a professional full-time role — use the occupation page instead.

These examples illustrate structure, not a real applicant’s history. Replace every sample detail with your own evidence. Follow the employer’s instructions on qualifications, registration, document length and file format.

Evidence to consider

  • Days and hours you can actually work
  • Right to work if asked
  • One reliability proof
  • Contact a manager can phone

Illustrative achievement bullets

  • Available Thursday–Sunday, 12:00–20:00, including bank holidays
  • Handled a till for 6 months with no cash discrepancies at audit
  • Covered two extra closing shifts at 24 hours’ notice
  • Served ~80 customers per Saturday in a high-street shop

Relevant skills to substantiate

Till · Customer service · Stock · Shift flexibility · Cash handling · Team cover

What to leave out

  • Two pages
  • Photos unless the brand asked
  • A LinkedIn URL with nothing on it

Choose a layout

Explore the compact template or use it in the CV builder. This is a suggested layout; follow the vacancy’s requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Should availability go on the CV?

Yes for part-time. Put it in the profile so they do not shortlist you for hours you cannot do.

Do I include school if I have a job already?

One line. The shifts are the proof.

Is a cover letter useful?

Usually no. The manager wants hours and reliability.
